Electric Back Massagers Ease Aches and Pains

The back carries most of your body’s weight. These days in the corporate world there are many demands of you to write for long hours at your desk or spend hours in front of a computer typing in your chair. Chances are, your chair isn’t even ergonomically designed and your back gets all of the abuse. The rise of technology has provided a solution to your back aches and pains – the dawn of the electric back massagers.

Electric back massagers come in all shapes, sizes and forms. The most popular electric back massagers come in the form of a chair. The aching person sits on the chair and chooses from a variety of programs that allow the chair to focus either on the lower back or the upper back. You will then input your choices in an interface and the back-rest springs to life. Vibrations emanate from the back-rest as machines massage the back. Some electric chair massagers have the capacity to analyze the form of one’s back and spine to better target the muscles located in it.

Other electric back massagers are handheld and look very much like a regular shower-head. A button is pressed and the tip either vibrates, rolls, beats, or kneads. Handheld electric back massagers are great for isolated aches and pains and are more flexible in treating muscle pains for it can be used to treat thighs and arms as well. Some handheld electric massagers come with infra-red devices that claim to sooth and rejuvenate tired muscles. These handheld massagers are great for massaging not only yourself, but your loved ones as well.

Yet another kind of ingenious back massager is the shiatsu body massager. This type of massager is bigger than the hand held massager and can stand on its own. The shiatsu body massager does not only massage the back, but it does well in massaging the neck, the arms, or even the legs. It utilizes a certain type of massage called acupressure, which aims to regulate the flow of energy within one’s body. A shiatsu massage requires the user to press specific body parts on the massager. This creates intense relaxation while restoring the body’s natural balance. Shiatsu body massagers, as opposed to other electric back massagers, claim to give the user smoother skin, as well as other attractive benefits.

There are hundreds of electric back massagers to choose from, but always be wary of which one to purchase. Some have doubtful claims, so always do your research before spending your hard earned money on one. Whatever claims some electric back massagers say, these massagers are sure to relieve you of your muscle aches and pains, as well as promote over-all blood circulation.

Electric back massagers nowadays have become so smart in their capacity to treat one’s aches and pains that the regular human masseuse has been rendered almost useless. In the age of robots and high-technology, it is amazing how we now have the capacity to make machines that can give the ultimate massage. Electric back massager, nowadays, are definitely a good investment.

How I Ease My Back And Neck Pain

I am a housewife and I live in Sidney. I am suffering from a Back and neck pain and I know it can seriously affect your activities in life. It can make you feel as if you’re carrying something on your back and if you’re suffering from it, you probably know how uncomfortable and distracting it is especially when you’re in the middle of doing something.

If you can no longer put up with the pain on your back and neck that’s always bugging you, there are simple yet safe ways you can do to ease or permanently get rid of it.

I want to inform you that stress, tension and fatigue is mostly what makes you feel these pains at the neck, and all these sums to one conclusion, that you misuse your muscles and significantly it means you have lost the natural ways of handling your muscles to work for you right way.

Apart from the above mentioned cause of your neck pain, injury at the neck because of an accident is another aspect that makes you suffer from chronic neck pain. Oftentimes, these pains remain for months, even years before understanding how you can improve your situation.

Sometimes, after engaging in activities, you may start feeling pain at the neck or in most cases after you are through with the activity at hand, you suddenly feel this pain which might be excruciating and you will agree with me that some of these activities are: you feel this sudden ‘crook’ in the neck, because you held the telephone in a wrong position speaking for a long time, painting a ceiling in most cases for a long time, a stiff/inflexible neck when you woke up, because you did not place your neck in the right sleeping position, stretching your neck in an awkward direction because you want to do some exercise on your neck, for no reason one day you just found yourself with neck pain, and so on.

The activities above that causes pain on your neck can be corrected by applying certain techniques that are natural to give you that relieve from stress, because if you do not handle the stress issue, it might result to fatigue in the muscle which you will experience as pain.

To permanently beat that stress and learn how to re-educate your muscles, visit the blog that explains the benefits of this technique and how you can be free from pain. All you need to do is take action and you will see positive results.
There are other techniques you can use to treat your back and neck pain. The Chiropractors have their own treatment version for it. They are educated and understand more about back and Neck pain than anyone, so you can always have them to supervise you.

Acupuncture May Ease Chronic Back Pain?

If you are tired of endless medical tests and treatments then you may want to pay a visit to an acupuncturist who may be able to ease chronic back pain problems during a number of acupuncture sessions. Although acupuncture does not cure all pains, research shows that chronic back pain sufferers had seen better results with acupuncture treatments than when they were solely relying on prescriptions and other back treatments.

Thus, even though a needle piercing your skin is not what you are looking for, you may wish to give acupuncture a try should your chronic back pains make it hard for you to function as well as you should throughout your day.

Although, the general practice is that acupuncture is to help the general well-being of your body, acupuncture may also benefit chronic back pain sufferers. Termed as an alternative medicine, acupuncture is said to help ease chronic back pain where traditional over the counter medicine treatments fail to reach the desired results by chronic back pain sufferers. Studies show that acupuncture helps relief chronic back pains even where patients do not experience any improvements through physiotherapy and other physical therapies. The century old pain relief technique has evolved in different ways. In fact, back pain sufferers can now choose from the three main acupuncture methods: Acupuncture may be individualized, standardized and simulated. Individualized acupuncture focuses on specific points according to an individual’s needs as they are assessed by a medical professional. Standardized acupuncture uses techniques that have the trust of experts to threat back pains. Simulated acupuncture is recommended for those who are trying this alternative medical technique for the first time. This is because the methods used in simulated acupuncture will imitate a needle but the acupuncturist will not penetrate the skin. Although, it is still not clear to medical professionals and researchers alike why simulated acupuncture has the same benefits on patients as other traditional acupuncture techniques, the good news is that simulated acupuncture provides similar back pain relief. Some experts are of the opinion that patients undergoing acupuncture believe that the treatment will ease the pain, thus the relief is more psychological than psychological.

Since acupuncture practitioners do not boost that it is a cure for all pains but promote its pain relief characteristics, the only way a chronic back pain sufferer may find out if acupuncture works for them is to try it out.

Ease Back Pain With More Exercise

People who are experiencing back pain should be exercising more. This is what a study suggests.

A study, which was conducted in the University of Alberta, had 240 subjects consisting of men and women who are suffering from chronic lower back pain. The study showed that those who exercised four days a week had a better quality of life, experiencing 28% less pain and 36% less disability, compared to those who visit the gym for two to three days a week.

According to researchers, back pain can hinder people from exercising; however, findings of the study show that lifting weights or working out for four days or more provides a great deal of pain relief and a good quality of life.

It is expected for people who are experiencing pain to stay in bed and not to move around. However, that action will result to further loss of mobility and will also prolong the pain. Therefore, experts recommend that those who are suffering from low back pain should continue to stay active. Staying active means doing day to day activities and avoid becoming sedentary. It is also recommended to undergo training programs or exercises which will be done every day on a regular basis. This is to help in maintaining an optimum blood circulation.

There are also special back exercises that can be done in order to relieve back ache. These active back exercises help in distributing nutrients to the disc spaces and soft tissues in the back so that the muscles and joints will remain healthy.  If these exercises are done regularly, it can help in preventing stiffness, weakness, and occurrence of low back pain.

Stretching should also be included in your exercises because it can help in gaining and maintaining mobility and flexibility. People who have chronic back pain may find it weeks or months of stretching to be able to mobilize the spine and the soft tissues, but they will also find that sustained relief of low back pain follows the increase in motion experienced through back exercises and stretching.

Ease Lower Back Pain During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, your body undergoes a great many changes. A great many of these will seem strange and uncomfortable, but it’s important to realize that almost all women going through pregnancy are experiencing the very same changes. Some of these changes can cause pain and discomfort, but if you are aware of and prepared for them, you can do a lot to minimize that pain and discomfort.

A large majority of women will experience lower back pain during pregnancy. It simply makes sense that as your body weight increases and center of gravity shifts, your back will feel at least some strain. Fortunately, there are some things you can do to ease lower back pain, making your whole pregnancy a much more pleasant experience.

One of the best and most effective things you can do to ease lower back pain are exercises that are geared toward strengthening your core muscle groups. These muscles, primarily in your back and abdomen can take a great deal of strain off of your back when properly conditioned. Unfortunately, many people do not use these muscles enough and they become soft and unsupportive. Ask your doctor for some easy and safe exercises that will build up these core muscles and help prevent lower back pain during pregnancy.

While pregnant, keep in mind that you should avoid any physically demanding work, if at all possible. In addition, be careful of what you lift and carry. Try to avoid carrying anything very heavy, including children.

Another important factor in preventing back pain during pregnancy is to be mindful of your posture. One of the biggest problems pregnant women face is the shifting of weight forward by their growing belly. As the weight shifts, it seems natural to compensate, so many women lean back too far, and arch their back, creating strain and eventual pain. To ease lower back pain, concentrate on keeping correct posture even before your body starts to change perceptibly. That way, it will be easier to maintain, even as your center of gravity gradually shifts forward.

While walking, make sure your shoulders are back, and your hips are basically aligned over your feet. Avoid standing if possible, but if you can’t, then try to shift weight from one foot to the other fairly frequently. When sitting, make sure your lower back is supported, using a pillow if necessary, and that both feet are firmly planted on the floor. Sleep on your side, with a pillow between your knees for additional support.

Lower back pain during pregnancy is extremely common, but you may not need to suffer from it if you’re prepared. Doing core strengthening exercises, and keeping your posture correct will do much to ease lower back pain Do your best to avoid activities that can exacerbate it, like lifting and carrying heavy objects, or standing for extended periods of time. If you do all of these things consistently, chances are that lower back pain won’t trouble you very much.

Ease Upper Back Pain During Pregnancy

While lower back pain is by far the most common for pregnant women, other areas of the back may experience it as well. Upper back pain during pregnancy normally occurs during the third trimester, at which point the body has undergone the most extreme changes it can in preparation for childbirth. Fortunately, there are things you can do to ease upper back pain, and make the last weeks of your pregnancy as easy and pleasant as possible. After all, you want to be able to focus all of your energy on the baby that is nearly here, and don’t want to be distracted with unnecessary pain.

Upper back pain during pregnancy occurs late in the pregnancy because as the uterus expands to its maximum size, it places pressure on your ribs, especially on the right side. Your uterus will stretch up as well as outward, so you may find it harder to breathe as pressure is put on your diaphragm. You may find you have pain in your shoulders, because pressure is being put on nerves in the diaphragm which go up into the shoulders. These pains can be quite sharp, and may sometimes be accompanied by heartburn because of pressure being put on the stomach.

Many women’s breasts also enlarge substantially during pregnancy, and the extra weight can pull your shoulders down, creating strain on your neck, the top of your back and ribs. In addition, your body will be undergoing some major hormonal changes as the body prepares for delivery, so muscles and ligaments are relaxed and loosened. Your ribcage will expand as part of this process, so your lungs can take in extra air. Even though you may sometimes find it hard to breathe, you are actually taking in about 40 percent more oxygen than you did before your pregnancy. This is all meant to prepare you for the rigors of childbirth.

One thing you can do to ease upper level back pain is to buy a more supportive bra. Look for a good nursing bra without underwires. The better your breasts are supported, the less likely they are to cause strain on your neck and upper back. Try to wear comfortable loose clothing so you can breathe and move freely.

When experiencing back pain during pregnancy, you can alleviate some of it by practicing some stretches. Start by holding your arms over your head to take pressure up and away from your ribs. Do chest stretches in the doorway. These are especially good for your shoulders by rotating them up and back, and lifting the ribs away from the uterus.

You can also ease upper back pain by practicing prenatal yoga, and generally focusing on stretches that pull your ribs away from the uterus. A visit to a massage therapist or chiropractor might also be beneficial.

Upper back pain during pregnancy is a reality for many women, but if you practice good posture and the correct stretches, you should feel much better. If you ease upper back pain, your last weeks of pregnancy should go very smoothly.

You can find helpful information about upper back pain during pregnancy and everything you need to know about ease upper back pain at Aha! Baby.

Ease Pain Faster

Ow, that’s my back! I can’t bend over, stand up, move! Does this sound familiar? To me and my husband, it does. We have both found ourselves at various times in our lives with this particular ailment. Well, recently we have been going for a frequent back massage. What a difference. We have found that the best type of therapy for backs is acupressure (acupuncture & pressure). In the United States and the world over, you can just run over to your local spa and take some time out for yourself, whether it be for 30, 45, 60 minutes or more, a massage will refresh your mind, body and soul.

Back massage is not a new breakthrough when caring for back pain. Massage therapists have practiced this art throughout the world. Chinese records dating back 5,000 years document the use of massage therapy for not only back pain. Many cultures, including the ancient Hindus, Persians and Egyptians applied many forms of massage, and even Hippocrates wrote papers recommending the use of rubbing and friction for joint and circulatory problems. Interested in finding out more about how it is practiced? Well, there are a variety of methods, over 250 to be precise. Different massages cure different ailments.

Back massage, as well as other massage techniques became popular in the US in the 1800s and grew in popularity until around the 1930s and 40s. The development of modern medicine discounted the benefits of it. Massage made a re-appearance in the 1960s and 1970s when nurses began to use it to alleviate pain in their patients. In the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta massage was deemed a core medical service.

One can only have a first experience once! We always hope that we have a good one. My first experience with massage was not all it could have been. Having had more massages since then, I realize, it actually is great. My masseuse was an intern. I, as a brand-new health club employee was elected to be her subject. . I had no idea what a back massage involved. Well, this was not your regular back massage! I had to put up with the noise of two rambunctious little boys while their mother practiced on me! There was no soft relaxing music. I was offered a clothing optional massage versus the no-clothes option covered by towels and blankets. Needless to say, I remained clothed.

One can have an international experience while receiving a massage. Along with oils, feet, stones, hands etc, one must find ones favorite type of massage. You may find that Lomi Lomi massage in Hawaii, Samoan, Shiatsu, Thai or even Chinese massage suits your needs. If not, then maybe try Swedish massage, which, incidentally in Sweden is known as classical massage. Whatever method of pain relief you chose, make sure you try a back massage, it will leave you feeling great!
