For instance, those who have herniated disk suffer from lower back pain. Herniated disk is caused by repeated movement, heavy strain, or increased pressure on the lower part of the back. The disk material puts pressure on the nerves and causes the pain.

Spinal stenosis is also found to be a common cause of lower back pain. In this, the spinal canal becomes narrow which presses and pinches the nerves that cause the pain. The space around the spinal canal and nerve roots narrow down because of arthritis. Lower back pain can also be caused due to infection of the spine.
